Parts of a flower
Flowering Plants (Angiospermaphyta) often have both male and female parts to their flowers. Some species do produce separate male and female plants or flowers. Parts seen in the diagram on the right need to be known and identified.

Vascular Plant Reproduction
Plant reproduction has 3 parts:

|
Mutualistic Relationships and Reproduction
Most flowering plants (Angiospermaphyta) rely on pollinators for the first stage of reproduction (pollination) such as bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, etc to reproduce. This relationship is a mutualistic one that allows for plants to be able to pass on their pollen to other plants allowing for sexual reproduction in a stationary organism.

Phytochromes and Flowering
Flowering is dependent upon the amount of daylight present measured through phytochromes. The absorption of light via phytochromes plays a role in inhibiting or activating genes controlling flowering
|
Phytochrome is a pigment in leaves of plants that captures light. Plants used two forms of phytochromes to measure the length of light and dark periods.
